Whitecap Stand Up Paddleboarding Event Calendar Updated 1/21/2010

• May 14-16 - SUPer Women's X-perience – at St Simons Island, East Beach
  

  An exciting, weekend-long, experience of all aspects of stand up paddleboarding (SUP) designed for -- and guided by -- women only. All equipment, accommodations and transportation to water-side venues will be provided and organized. All you got to do is get yourself there and be ready to experience the beauty and joy of the Golden Isles from a water-bourne perspective. We'll show you the way! As long as you are comfortable in the water, it doesn't matter if you're a beginner, expert, or somewhere in between. We'll offer beginning introduction to SUP at your pace. Others may go straight to unique flatwater floats in the marshes, downwinders to other destinations, and, if it feels right, maybe take on the challenge of the friendliest waves on the east coast. Even a couple little "extras" thrown in, like morning yoga sessions on the SUP's. Evening meals and gatherings organized from an anti-testosterone perspective as well. It could be a weekend you'll remember for a long, long time.

• June 5th, Saturday -- ACWA Lake WINDfest -- Columbia, SC area
  

  The Augusta-Columbia Windsurfing Association annual lake windfest always get planable wind! Really. It's totally weird. We pick a date weeks ahead, assume no wind, yet, it blows. This event is a gathering of area windsurfers to share our stoke in the sport, and sail if the wind allows, and party at the lake, at the very least, Whitecap also offers free clinic-style instruction, so tell friends or family to make the scene. (Some restrictions will apply to children under 15 yrs old.) Several models of windsurfable SUP's will be on hand if wind is light. Lake Montecello, just north of Columbia is the location. Starting about 11am. SAVE THE DATE!

• June 26th, Saturday -- Surf Sailors Beach WINDfest, St. Simons GA
  

  The "boatyard" club, the "SSI Surf Sailors", along with the reps from Aerotech/Exocet/KONA -- and, of course, the usual Whitecap entourage bring it to the beach for an all-round windfest and beach party. Our 4th year. Demo latest 2010 gear. Sail in various "types" of water in a semi-protected, ocean setting. With the windsurf tribe on hand, it's surf culture, baby! Instruction -- Equipment -- Inspiration It's what we got fer ya. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer.
